Stitched Portrait Workshop - SAVE THE DATE - August 4, 2018

Stitched Portrait Workshop - SAVE THE DATE - August 4, 2018

If you have been following our blog posts you know that we have featured a number of artists who have explored stitched portraits.  Our previous posts featuring LaVesha Parker, Ruth Miller and Michelle Kingdom are excellent examples.  Each one has their own style and techniques.  Gaye Glasspie, also known as GG, has explored this idea in her own way.  A prolific knitter, GG has taken to embroidery with great enthusiasm.  Taking her knitting logo, she applied it to embroidery and along the way created her own stitch for the gorgeous curls framing her face.  The response to her work inspired us to create the GG The Knitter Kit  and GG The Crocheter Kit now available here at Très Chic Stitchery.

Please join GG, Susan Thompson and Becca Smith for a Stitched Portrait Workshop on August 4, 2018, from 11:00 to 4:00 at the Très Chic Stitchery Studios.  This class is great for beginners as well as proficient stitchers.  We will be reviewing 5 stitches and having fun with basic patterns in the morning.  Lunch will be served and the afternoon will be devoted to your own Stitched Portrait based on a photograph you supply us.  We will transform your photo into a drawing and print it on Stick n Stitch fabric.  We will be with you along the way as you explore this technique.  All class materials and lunch are included in the workshop price of $99.  Materials include linen fabric, embroidery needles , Sajou wooden hoop (suitable as a frame) 3 cards of Retors du Nord thread, 2 printed pattern sheets including your personal portrait, and an instruction book. Only 12 places are available so register now!  Below is a sample of how we went from a photo to a drawing to the final stitched piece.  YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!  JOIN US!
