The metal tins contain 16 ball spring safety or diaper pins. They are 30 mm long, size 1 (3/16"). The ball replaces the usual coil which does not tear fabrics. 

The box is covered with a round label representing a sewing lesson. Another label on the back indicates the contents.  Knitters use these as stitch markers!

Dimensions of the box: diametre 4.7 cm - thickness: 1.8 cm. It opens by a small key on the side, just like a tin of shoe polish.
